Kerman holds the record for world registration monuments
These days, Kerman has become one of the most important tourist destinations in Iran. Meanwhile, visiting six world registered heritages of the province, which are registered in UNESCO list, has a hotter atmosphere.
Kerman province is the largest province of the country and has an ancient history. In the oldest maps left from different historical periods, the name of Kerman city can be seen as the most important population center in the east of the country. It has maintained its position and in recent years it has become one of the main tourist destinations in the country with more attention of officials.

Currently, tourism is one of the most important foundations of economic development in Kerman. Construction of numerous hotels, establishment of traditional inns in historical houses of Kerman, establishment of 140 ecotourism units in different parts of the province, especially in cities and villages close to world registered monuments, prosperity of handicraft markets and creation of new tourism routes along with strengthening tourism culture has prepared the province for a great leap in the field of tourism industry in the society.
According to Kerman statistics, recently it has an acceptable position among tourist destinations. The presence of foreign tourists, especially from Europe and Far Asia, has increased by 80%.
This province has registered the citadel of Bam, prince garden, the rocky village of Meymand, the desert of Lut, the aqueducts of Jopar, and the kilim of Shariki Pich in the village of Darestan in the list of world monuments.
Despite these landmarks in the province, there are still several candidates for world registration, including; Haj Agha Ali House as the largest mud-brick house in the world, Kerman Grand Bazaar as the largest Rasteh of Middle East markets, Sandal Hills as a symbol of civilization of inventor of calligraphy in the world, Fath Abad Garden and Rayen Citadel as the second largest mud-brick building in the world.

1- Bam Citadel | The largest brick building in the world and the first world record of Kerman
When the name of Bam is heard, next to the terrible earthquake of 1982, the name of the largest brick building in the world comes to mind of every viewer. Bam Citadel has always been among the three most attractive buildings in the country for foreign tourists.
Although this citadel was 80% destroyed in the Bam earthquake, but now it has been restored and the restoration process of this building is in the final stages, and this year, tourists have been able to visit the ruler section (Shah-Neshin) of this citadel.
Bam Citadel with the view of Bam city is the first city in Iran to be registered in the world and is under the strict supervision of UNESCO inspectors.
It is said that this building is more than 2500 years old and the name of this citadel has been mentioned many times in Ferdowsi Shahnameh.
This building played a decisive role in the most eerie attack to this province, which was the campaign of the bloodthirsty Qajar king, and the last Shah of Zandieh was killed in this citadel by the Qajar assassin.

2- Prince Mahan Garden | a paradise in the middle of the desert and the second world record of Kerman
Prince Mahan Garden is also one of the world registered monuments of Kerman province which is located in a very beautiful city garden called Mahan. This garden is located on the slope of Tigaran Mountain. The water that originates from Tigaran Mountains flows on the stepped ponds of this garden.
On both sides of the garden, all kinds of cold and tropical trees have grown, and on both sides of the garden, there are hundreds of old sycamore trees that give this building an indescribable beauty. The prince garden is full of colorful flowers in the spring, and the central mansion and its royal residence show off the height of this mansion.
Currently, rooms around this garden are dedicated to accommodating Nowruz guests and it has given indescribable beauty to this building.
This building was built by Abdul Hamid Mirza Nasser Al-Dawlah Farmanfarma during Qajar period. He ruled Kerman and Baluchistan for 11 consecutive years and his death occurred in 1309 AH.
Prince Mahan Garden is one of the most beautiful royal gardens in Iran which is a combination of Iranian beauty and originality that is remained with the harmony of water and garden and eye-catching architecture like a paradise in Kerman province.
Prince Garden is one of the most beautiful historical gardens in Iran. This garden is located about four kilometers from Mahan city and around Kerman city, in the foothills of Tigaran mountains and belongs to the late Qajar period. This garden has an area of about 5.5 hectares and includes two complexes, east and west.
3- Lut Desert | the third world record of the land of Kariman
This desert which is registered as the first natural monument of Iran, is located in three provinces of Kerman, Sistan and Baluchestan and South Khorasan, but because 70% of this monument is in Kerman province and 90% of its beauties are located in this province, the world registration is also located in Kerman.
Lut Desert is known by Shahdad civilization as the inventors of the world’s first flag and its dwarf city. The warmest spot on earth is located in this complex. Also, Shahdad Kaluts, the world’s tallest sand dunes and natural vases or nabkha are located in Shahdad.
Sky observation, desert climbing and Shahdad desert camping are attractions that attract thousands of foreign tourists throughout the year.

4- Meymand village | one of the first human settlements and the fourth world record
Meymand village is one of the historical monuments of Kerman province which is located in Shahr-e Babak city in the north of Kerman. This village is three thousand years old and has been dug in the heart of the mountain. All the elements of this village are made of rock and the people of Meymand still follow the customs of their ancestors. They pass even the accent of these people in accordance with ancient Persian.
The people of this village host people and travelers in ecotourism units, and travelers can spend their days in the heart of the mountain.

5- Kerman aqueducts | the richest water sources in Kerman and the fifth world record
Undoubtedly, the earth’s veins are located in Kerman which can be referred to the Jopar, Akbarabad and hundreds of other aqueducts, where the three aqueducts of the province in Jopar and east of Kerman have been registered worldwide. These aqueducts are the secret of life in Kerman province. In Bam, some of these aqueducts come out of the heart of the desert like a roaring river and irrigate plants, and they are still flowing over the years.
Recent excavations on the walls of Bam aqueducts have uncovered inscriptions from the Achaemenid period, and many of these aqueducts are visited by tourists every year.
6- Shariki Pich kilim | a symbol of Kerman handicrafts and the sixth world heritage of the province
Darestan is a village where the sounds of kilim weavers come from every alley. Women and girls in this village will be trained from the beginning years of their life and men also learn color techniques and dyeing. They produce fluff and yarn to produce kilim yarn.
A small piece of this kilim is currently being sold at a considerable price. Now the name of Darestan has become global and women and girls of this small village are proud that they have raised the name of the village in the world with their index fingers and they are proud that this art is not only limited to the framework of rural houses no longer. We are waiting to see the supply of these handicrafts in different parts of the world with proper marketing.
Although Shariki Pich kilim is produced with the center of Darestan, in practice, measures were taken to develop the texture of this kilim in 1954, and the first Shariki Pich kilim workshop was established.
This kilim name is called partner because several people work together to weave the kilim.
