The original owner of this mansion was one of the famous aristocrats and merchants of Yazd. This historical monument is actually known as “Abolghasem Rohani” house and in 2016, after 4 years of renovation, it was opened as a historical house and the largest traditional restaurant in the country.
In recent years, this monument has been converted into a restaurant as Khane-Pedari restaurant. This restaurant provides the best and most memorable moments in a traditional and unforgettable atmosphere with delicious and tasty Iranian and traditional food for tourists and travelers.
The restaurant tables are located in the porch and courtyard and the restaurant guests are hosted there. Upon entering the courtyard of Khane-Pedari restaurant, we encounter a spectacular and unique bedding and mirror work. These decorations and paintings continue to occupy the eye of the beholder as if walking in a historic house rather than a traditional restaurant, passing through the upper rooms and windows.
The mansion of Khane-Pedari restaurant, in fact, like many traditional houses in Yazd, consists of two parts, outside and inside, a hall, a kitchen, a four-sided windshield, and of course a separate winter room.
According to historical evidence, the ancient locals of Yazd were the first people that brought water to their city through canals miles away and they invented a revolutionary aqueduct in the watershed of Iran. Therefore, it is not surprising to see tunnels and canals in many old houses.
In the mansions of Khane-Pedari restaurant, as a historical monument, an aqueduct were built in the basement to supply water and access to drinking water for the residents of the house, and their works are still known.
The building of Khane-Pedari restaurant was registered in the list of national monuments in 2003.
